my ferret is really sweet so i wanted to take him to nursing homes with this 4-h group im in, but i dont know if thats safe for my ferret?
what do you think? hes the only pet i have that past the test so i really want to take him!!
hes has all his shots so he is aloud im just worried that he will get sick, thanks though (:
ALSO!!
one more question, well he has to go to these classes before he can go to the nursing home and i was wondering if i should bring his other ferret buddy with him so they could keep each other company while they wait there turn to be tested for each thing? i dont want him to be lonely sitting in his little cage for an hour
thanks you helped a lot!! (:

I have recently purchased a huge kit (hes almost 4 months and the vet thought he was at least 2 years) with an outgoing personality. I have read and bought a lot of books however, nothing could really prepare me for how much of a fireball this little fuzzy is. Even if I let him out 4+ hours a day he still suffers from mild cage anxiety/boredom (We have chew toys/bungee toys and at least 3 hammocks in the cage at all times, it is 4 levels and we have just learned to use the litter box) I take him for walks several times a week and we have stimulating toys to play with out of cage and we always play with mommy (me) for half the time we are out.
He gets along well with the neighbors ferrets. I took him to the pet store to meet a kit there who was half his size they played for about 15 mins before my baby put a mark on the kits neck. They still wanted to play afterward but I am afraid of getting that kit due to them possibly not liking each other. is this normal. if not suggestions?

Im going to be getting a ferret and i was wondering what i would need to prepare before he gets home?
I fully acknowledge that ferrets need a lot of attention, have an oder, cant be fed fruit(are carnivores), are not for small children, need at least 18 hours of sleep, house has to be ferret proof, needs shots and vet care, and need lots of exercise.
I am still a little foggy on what type of food to get and i know that for the bedding not to use any wood shavings and not to use cat litter for litter because its bad for there respiratory system.
And any other info i should know please add.
Thank you

i’m actually looking for a chin cage that he won’t chew, won’t get feet stuck in that also has a slide out tray.

I want to ensure i encourage bonding, i don’t want to get home and just abandon him in the cage as though i’ve just seperated him from everything he knows and put him in solitary, however i don’t want to overwhelm him either?
